Measurement Guide For Dresses

  • When using a measuring tape, be sure to keep it slightly loose to allow for breathing room. It's easier to alter a dress that's too big than one that's too small.
  • When taking measurements, wear an unpadded bra or a shapewear that you plan to wear with the dress.
  • Measurements of specific parts are as follows:
  1. Bust: While wearing a bra, measure around the fullest part of your bust.
  2. Waist: Allow the tape measure to naturally settle at the narrowest part of your waist and measure around.
  3. Abdominal Girth: For pregnant brides, provide the measurement around the fullest part of your abdomen.
  4. Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
  5. Height: Stand barefoot with your legs together and measure from the top of your head to the floor.
  6. Heel Height: Provide the height of the heels you will be wearing on your wedding day.
